Aripiprazole is a partial agonist of dopamine D2 and serotonin 5HT1 receptors and antagonist of serotonin 5HT2a receptors.
It is indicated for schizophrenia in adults and in adolescents over 15.
It is also indicated for severe manic episodes in Bipolar I Disorder and for the prevention of further manic episodes.
