Pharmathen, one of the 50 leading research-based pharmaceutical companies in Europe specializing in the development and distribution of complex, innovative pharmaceutical formulations, reaffirms its commitment to meaningful social contribution by extending its support for a second consecutive year to the non-profit organization Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Hellas.
The renewal of this partnership is a notable initiative by Pharmathen, further enhancing its positive social impact by providing tangible support for families and children's health, while emphasizing the importance of prevention and care for the most vulnerable members of our society.
It is worth highlighting that Pharmathen was a key supporter in creating the first Ronald McDonald Family Room at the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital. A space that provides daily comfort and dignity to dozens of families with hospitalized children, allowing them to remain close to their loved ones in a nurturing and supportive environment, just minutes from the hospital ward. The facility is especially intended for families from remote areas or those facing serious financial hardship, for whom staying near their child would otherwise be extremely difficult.
This year, the company’s commitment continues as Pharmathen supports the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Family Room, ensuring that the space remains fully functional and welcoming for the families who need it most.
During the first quarter of the Family Room’s operation, hundreds of families benefited from its services. Occupancy reached 97%, with an average stay of nearly 19 days. Mothers accounted for most users, staying close to their children throughout their hospitalization.
In this spirit, on Tuesday, July 1st, 20 employees-volunteers from Pharmathen’s facilities in Attica and Rhodopi visited the Family Room, carrying out a meaningful act of compassion with significant impact. With great willingness to give back, they stood by the families and children staying there, offering moments of support, joy, and optimism where it matters most.
Dimitris Kadis, Group CEO of Pharmathen, stated: “Our support to Ronald McDonald House Charities Hellas is not just an act of social responsibility, but an expression of our deep commitment to actively support vulnerable families during critical times. We are proud to contribute to an initiative that places vulnerable people and care at its core, and we will continue with determination to stand by those who need us most.”
Pharmathen continues to lead by example, combining innovation and scientific excellence with an unwavering commitment to humanity, empathy, and meaningful social contribution.
